2009 Business of Integrity Awards
This year the 2009 Business of Integrity Awards will be presented at the Better Business Bureau's Annual Meeting on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the Hyatt Regency Greenville. This year's speaker will be Thomas R. Byrd former president of Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in Virginia and founded in 2009 the Take Care Group, LLC. Each year the local BBB honors businesses in the 10-county Upstate region for high ethical standards of behavior toward customers, vendors and employees. Award criteria also include marketing and advertising practices, and community and industry involvement.
The Business of Integrity Award is open to all Upstate for-profit businesses.
An individual may nominate any of the following types of companies:
- The company he/she works for, or owns
-An affiliate company
-A company with whom they do business
-Any other company meeting the Business of Integrity Award Standards
(Previous Business of Integrity Award winners are eligible to be
re-nominated three years after winning)
The Three Categories companies can apply for are Marketplace Ethics,
Customer Service, and Community Service.
Applicants should be a company that:
Demonstrates ethical practices in the marketplace
Honest marketing and advertising practices
Community industry recognition for sound business practices
Effectively train and assist their employees in carrying out its ethical policies
